Arts and Crafts at MIT presents:
How to make a sword.
with Brian Chan
In an upcoming video I will show you how to create a sword from scratch. Take your scrap steel and make something useful. We will go over the basics of forging, filing, heat treatment and polishing. We'll also touch on the fabrication of metal and wooden fittings to complete your sword.

I have a couple of finished blades. All I need to learn is how to attach a place for your hands. First I thought I'd make four holes in the blade, wood covering both sides of the blade, pins through it and the blade would be attached to a place for your hands, but the wood will not stay in place.
Please tell me how the masters do it.
Thanks in advance!
