D-Lab: Development through Dialogue, Design and Dissemination
D-Lab is an interdisciplinary program at MIT that is committed to working with people around the world to create and disseminate affordable technologies that contribute to sustainable livelihoods, healthy communities, and more just and equitable societies. We inspire and prepare students to use their engineering, science, business and social science training to address the issues of poverty. We challenge them to design new technologies and develop business models and implementation strategies to get these technologies into the hands of people who need them. Throughout this process, we encourage collaborations with community partners and strive to engage them in the process of co-creation.
