Mad Skills: Making New Media Literacy Practices Available to Teachers and Students Alike
The presentation at the Digital Media & Learning Conference 2010 explores how Project NML team developed new pedagogical tools to address the needs of learners in today’s participatory culture. More importantly, though, it will address how they deployed those tools in the classroom through a partnership with Global Kids, emphasizing learning as situational, transmedia, collaborative and emergent. Focused on the process of bringing researched, theoretical tools into a very practical setting, it will discuss both the principles of Project NML and how those principles can be put into action in the real world. Finally, it will distill some lessons about how teachers and researchers can best work together
