Tavares Strachan

From 2009 -2010, artist Tavares Strachan participated in a residency project at MIT organized by the MIT List Visual Arts Center. Strachan collaborated with MIT's Department of Aeronautics and Astronautics, the Department of Mechanical Engineering’s 3D Optical Systems Group, and the MIT Sea Grant College Program’s Autonomous Underwater Vehicle Lab. The artist's collaborative efforts resulted in the creation of three new art works that were on view at the MIT List Visual Arts Center as part of the exhibition Orthostatic Tolerance: It Might Not Be Such a Bad Idea if I Never Went Home (May 7 - July 11, 2010).

Support for Orthostatic Tolerance: It Might Not Be Such a Bad Idea if I Never Went Home has been provided by The National Endowment for the Arts, a Federal agency, the Nimoy Foundation, the Council for the Arts at MIT, and the Massachusetts Cultural Council. Media sponsor: Phoenix Media/Communications Group.
