Games Are Not Good For You: So Why Are We Here?
Eric Zimmerman, Game Designer
Eric has some bones to pick with you. In what promises to be a lively session, he takes on some of the cherished assumptions surrounding games and learning, leveraging his well-earned reputation as designer, scholar, and professional agitator. Expect to hear new ideas about the way learning instrumentalizes games, why education should not be a service industry, and how happiness is not all it is cracked up to be. Make sure to bring your own strong opinions. There will be plenty of time for discussion and debate with the audience as well. [Recorded April 18, 2012]
