The Imperial-MIT Global Fellows Program is a collaborative effort between MIT and the Imperial College of London, focusing on the introduction and development of transferable skills.

Students spend four to five days of intensive activity:

• Attending practical lectures that give a framework for transferable skills, including relevant research and context for the skill-set in each student’s particular field of work;
• Participating in collaborative exercises and experiential activities that reinforce the framework, emphasizing collaboration and adding experience;
• Providing feedback to peers on communication and leadership styles.

Student feedback toward the program was incredibly positive: 92% of 2011 respondents rated the impact of the course as “Very High” or “High,” and 96% would recommend the course to another student. The program helped to improve knowledge and skills in collaboration, creativity, teamwork and communication in multinational teams, increasing student confidence and illustrating the importance of networking in different organizational structures.

This program is coordinated by Global Education & Career Development and co-sponsored by the Dean for Graduate Education and the Office of the Dean for Undergraduate Education.
