The "MIT Factor" for LGOs
The "MIT factor" means constantly being inspired by faculty, alumni and peers to go beyond what you thought was possible. Jane Guertin, LGO '14, says that coming to MIT this year fulfilled a dream she had had since second grade. As she says, "my classmates are incredibly successful and driven, but humble and inspiring. Being around them makes you want to do better and do more." And she is impressed that at such a leading research institution, she has become "so close to faculty in just a few months…there is an unbelievable sense of community here, and I can't imagine being anywhere else."
For Tacy Napolillo, LGO '14, MIT represents an unbelievable array of opportunities. For example, she says, "I'm interested in the healthcare industry, and I've been given many opportunities to meet and talk with leaders in this field." LGO students partake in, and contribute to, the incredible value of the MIT community and network.
