Solar energy has enormous long-term potential as a large-scale, carbon-neutral source of power. MIT faculty and students share how their research is leading the way for scale-up of new technologies for solar capture, conversion and storage.

When I worked on solar technology in the 90’s the average life of a solar panel was 6 year, no where near the 30 year pay back time required. Please be sure to test the life span of your newly developed solar technology. Also, what will become of the plant life or warmth that the sunlight absorbed by acres of solar panel would have provided?
