Stroviol - 100 Years Old

Here is a delighful demonstration by MIT student musicians Paula Cai, Derek Wu, and Val Peng on the Stroh Viola. Also known as the Stroviol, this professional instrument was successfully designed to be amplified with an acoustical horn in England in 1914. Hear them play part of the Passacaglia, MIT Music Library, April 2015.
