"We will…we will…rock you…" "Hey, it's Professor Burgasser, against whom I hold no grudge from 8.012. Really." "There's nothing wrong with being 'geeky.' <p>Wow — I'm a student — which is more valuable than an alum because I am here <span class="caps">NOW</span>. I have friends from Harvard and <span class="caps">MIT</span>, and they are all smart, all do nerdy things from time to time, and are all social. So take your stereotypes and stick them up your alumnus, while we have fun being more than one type of person.</p>
<p>I was funny how ugly and nerdy everyone looked! It's amazing to me that <span class="caps">MIT</span> thinks that these nerdy people are a good sales pitch for students. As an alum, take my recommendation, go to Harvard if you're a socialite; go to <span class="caps">MIT</span> if you're a nerd.</p>
<p>I just want to point out that not all <span class="caps">MIT</span> students can find a job. It's not the school that will determine whether or not you can get job, it's the student's ability to work hard. </p>
<p>This is such a cool video! I'd always suspected that <span class="caps">MIT</span> stereotypes could be busted, and your video proves it beautifully by busting them all. </p><p>I love the red chested male cheerleaders for the women's basketball team.</p>

<p>I love seeing how much discussion this film has generated. Please keep in mind that this film was made in good spirit with a sense of humor. It is not a film against Harvard or any other school. It a film about <span class="caps">MIT</span> students and their many talents – which I assure you they have in abundance. <span class="caps">MIT</span> students are amazingly creative! <p>I don't think this video does anything but reinforce the notion that MITers are nerds and geeks, but I also see absolutely nothing wrong with being smart and different from the mainstream. We need to stop the popular image of smart people as being "abnormal" – what's truly not normal is the dumbing down of an entire society via the lowest common denominator-seeking entertainment media and pandering politicians. May these students have many happy years as this nation's intellectually advanced elite leading us out of stupidity! </p>

<p>Rats! I'm a professor of English, with specialties in rhetoric and linguistics, and all this time I thought WE were the nerds. </p>
<p>My only thought after watching this: eww, they use Jorden as their Japanese textbook. Weird. </p>
<p>From some of the comments I concluded that if you are genius you should go to <span class="caps">MIT</span> if not go to Harvard. </p>
<p>I didn't go to either Harvard or <span class="caps">MIT</span>, but I have people from there working for me. They are not nerdy and know how to have fun. :)</p><p>-TJ, George Mason University, PhD </p>
<p>The atmosphere/people at <span class="caps">MIT</span> seem a lot more easy-going than where I'm going to school this autumn: the University of Michigan.</p><p>I also hear that <span class="caps">MIT</span> has a great linguistics program (and Noam Chomsky!!) which is kind of what I'm going for.</p><p>Now, if it weren't for that tuition…</p>
